New Art Teacher: Ms. Candance ColeDear Members of the Webster Community,

I am very excited to be joining Webster Elementary Children’s Center for Integrated Arts as the new Art Teacher. I absolutely enjoy teaching!  It’s my goal to instill my love of the arts and learning in my students. I can’t wait to help unravel the uniqueness of each and every student.

A little about me… I grew up in Green Bay attending Kennedy, Lombardi and Southwest Schools so I have a vested interest in doing my part to make Webster school an amazing asset within our community and returning the gift of learning that was given to me.

My background in teaching Art ranges from toddler to senior citizens. My curiosity and excitement for connecting with the local  Arts community has lead me to career opportunities in Art Gallery Management, running my own business called Art Babies, curriculum writing, painting large community murals, grant writing, securing volunteers, acquiring alternative funding, and successfully completing entrepreneur and business planning courses .

What can students look forward to in working with me? Art classes that are fun, differentiated and engaging.  Students will enjoy hands-on experiences in designing, constructing and understanding the creative process while learning about and using new techniques, skills and materials.  Students will also participate in mural painting, set design and creation, large sculpture construction, school and community beautification, art exhibits, visits from regional artists and so much more!

In addition to their weekly art class students can choose to participate in Art Agents, PeeWee Picassos, or Botanical Buddies, some of the exploratory opportunities open to students outside of the school day.

I am excited to network and partner with classroom teachers to assist them, as they go outside the boundaries of the common core subject areas, to integrate and infuse them with visual arts experiences. I will be demonstrating new techniques, practices and art resources for them to share with their students.

I look forward to getting to know the students, parents and staff of new Webster family.

Sincerely,

Ms. Candace Cole
